Get ready to sip, savor, and uncork the fun at this year’s Vintage Illinois Weekend. The state’s largest – and most highly anticipated – Illinois wine festival is returning to North Utica with more delectable wines and culinary delights than ever before. 


Since its inception in 2003, Vintage Illinois has become a treasured staple for locals and out-of-towners alike. It’s a unique opportunity for attendees to sample their way through a roster of distinctive vintners, enjoy live music, and plan an event-filled getaway. 


The festival takes place on Saturday, September 21st (11 AM – 6 PM) and Sunday, September 22nd (Noon – 5 PM). During the weekend, you’ll have the opportunity to shop local businesses and Canal Market vendors, as well as spoil your taste buds with bites from local restaurants and event food trucks.

And, as a cherry on top of the sundae, the area is ripe with state parks, hiking, and biking trails, so you can soak in all Mother Nature has to offer. With accessibility to parking around every corner and a bustling town that’s easy to walk around, there’s no shortage of entertainment and fun around North Utica.

1. Research wineries  at Vintage Illinois

3. Book a River Cruise or Trolley Tour

Drink in the scenic canyons of Starved Rock State Park and enjoy the breathtaking views of the Illinois River aboard the Eagle I. 4. Tour the Canal Warehouse Museum

The Canal Warehouse features all of the LaSalle County Historical Society’s artifacts and educational displays that date before the turn of the 19th century. There are many unique displays that showcase LaSalle County’s vibrant and colorful history, like Indian artifacts and 

Lincoln’s carriage. Stop by Friday, Saturday or Sunday Noon - 4pm.


5. Explore Starved Rock State Park

The #1 attraction in Illinois? Count us in! With 13 miles of trails to traverse, seasonal waterfalls, and idyllic scenery (including 18 canyons), Starved Rock State Park is a must-see. Sprawled along the Illinois River, you can also partake in boating, fishing, or camping. The park was named a National Historic Landmark In 1966 and is the perfect place to get in touch with nature and create lasting memories. 


6. Guided Kayak Tours

Take the whole family - kids and pets - on a kayak tour at Starved Rock. Sign up for a guided tour and see what the hikers can’t see from land. This two hour tour stops by the towering St. Peter's Sandstone Bluffs, soaring Bald Eagles, Pelicans and more!
