Early Season Viticulture Workshop – Central Illinois

There are so many things to consider in order to produce a high-quality crop. This workshop will present concepts important to timely vineyard management practices, including tissue sampling, canopy management, and crop estimation, as well as provide tips to getting a good relationship started with a winery.
Speakers and Topics include:
Michael White, Iowa State University: Early-Season Pest and Disease Managment, Sprayers and Sprayer Calibration
Sarah Bowman, SIU: Data Collection for Vineyard Nutrition Management and Crop Estimation
Mackinaw Vineyard Walk: Focus on Canopy Management and Sampling Demonstrations
Galena Cellars: Then and Now – Perspectives on the Illinois Grape and Wine Industry
Additionally, winemakers are encouraged to bring a wine or two to share with the group for active discussion.
Workshop begins at 1 PM, and should conclude by 5PM.
